The advanced training project SUDANINNOVATION was inaugurated on 25th January 2021 at the Conference Hall of Comboni College of Science and Technology. The project, conducted by the National Research Council of Italy - Institute of Heritage Science (CNR-ISPC) in collaboration with Comboni College of Science and Technology (CCST), consists of online workshops on new digital technologies applied to the cultural heritage sector. The Italian Embassy in Khartoum sponsors this scientific diplomacy project as part of the "Integrated promotion and re-launch of the country system" funded by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (Italy). The College was honoured with the presence of the following distinguished guests who appreciated the value of the project: Prof. Intisaar Saghayrun, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific research, Dr. Faisal Mohamed Salih, Minister of Culture and Information, Prof. Costanza Miliani, Director of the Institute of Heritage Science, National Research Council of Italy (CNR-ISPC), Dr. Sabrina Greco, Researcher (CNR-ISPC), Scientific coordinator of the SudanINNOVATION Project, Dr. Vincenzo Racalbuto, Director of Italian Agency for Development Cooperation –AICS, Dr. Katherine Ahsley, British Council-King’s College of London, Arch. Nour Al-Din Regeig, Chairperson of the Commission for Cultural Heritage of the African Union of Architects and H.E. Gianluigi Vassallo, Ambassador of Italy to Sudan. The training program concluded on Thursday 4th February after 30 hours of workshops.
