In tune with the mission of Comboni College of Science and Technology the BSc program prepares in four years future nurses and nurse leaders using a framework that is student-centered, evidence-informed and work based.
The program aims, through the introduction and development of clinical governance and work based learning (WBL) concepts, to graduate leading and innovative nurses in terms of academic teaching, clinical nursing, nurse leadership, patient care, spiritual awareness and research skills within the Sudanese health care system.
There is a fifth year of specialization either in Maternal Care-Intensive Care Unit or Palliative Care-Cancer Care. After the specialization year, graduates obtain a Bachelor Degree Honours which gives direct access to Master Degree programs.
The program is run in collaboration with some international organizations. The Italian NGO AISPO aispo.org provides training for the College tutors who will coordinate the practical internships of the students in hospitals and to the mentors in the hospital who will coach them.
The British NGO Books2Africa books2africa.org is providing modern books of nursing to enrich the College library and keep it updated with the last editions of the best books.
The College also signed a MoU with the Complutensis University of Madrid Agreement for Academic, Scientific and Cultural Collaboration between CCST and UCM , the biggest government university in Spain, that will open the door to further collaboration with its Faculty of Nursing. Ongoing conversations are also in progress with other international institutions.
The program is coordinated by PhD Halima Ali and involves international staff like CNS Geraldine Damanhuri, a senior Irish nurse, educationalist and researcher with decades of experience in the National Health System of Great Britain.
